“The Adventure of Silver Blaze” 1892.

“The Great Game” 2010.

I actually underlined this when I read the story. It says: ‘I lay back against the cushions, puffing at my cigar, while Holmes, leaning forward, with his long, thin forefinger checking off the points upon the palm of his left hand, gave me a sketch of the events which had led to our journey.’

YES PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

YES PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

Oooooooh, now I get how Sherlock survived. That’s not as difficult as I though it would be.

I have questions.

  • Mrs Hudson: It's a disgrace! Sending your little brother into danger like that. Family is all we have in the end, Mycroft Holmes.
  • Mycroft Holmes: Oh shut up, Mrs Hudson.
  • Sherlock and John: MYCROFT!
  • [silence]
  • Mycroft: Apologies.
  • Mrs Hudson: Thank you.
  • Sherlock: Though do, in fact, shut up.
Most people blunder around this city, and all they see are streets and shops and cars. When you walk with Sherlock Holmes, you see the battlefield. You’ve seen it already, haven’t you?
